A check-up allows your dentist to see if you have any dental problems and helps you keep your mouth healthy.

When you visit the surgery for a check-up you will be seen by one of our experienced dentists. Between them our three dentists have over 70 years experience in dentistry. For those people who have dental phobia, we can help you relax. We are proud to have treated many patients who have not seen a dentist before or who have not seen a dentist for several years. We like to book you with the same dentist on each visit to allow you to build your confidence and get used to your dentist.

Most check-ups take just 10-15 minutes dependent upon your oral health. During the appointment the dentist will:

• Examine your teeth, gums and mouth
• Check your mouth and neck for abnormailities
• Ask about your general health and any problems you’ve had with your teeth, mouth or gums since your last visit
• Ask about, and give you advice on, your diet, smoking and alcohol use, and teeth-cleaning habits

Typically we recommend you visit your dentist every 6 months to ensure that any problems that arise are treated early. We have a strong belief in prevention through education and advice - so that you limit the amount of procedures required and keep your mouth as healthy as possible.
